If one person can “clap” as much as they like it is meaningless. Great, one person liked it a lot which is nice to know, or the writer/publication has paid someone to clap on it all day to elevate the value of the article.

Ev Williams how are you going to stop bots from killing the popularity algorithms in your system?

How will you stop writers/publications from clapping their stories up so it gets more views?

As a publication owner, writer, this adds stress. What will I have to do to ensure my stories and my writer’s stories are being noticed and read?

As a reader, how do I know what has truly sparked a conversation, hit a nerve, or inspired many people. Recommends were hard won and an indication that the article had something special about it. I worry claps take this dynamic away.

I would love to know how this will be mitigated. Thanks
