I had absolutely no coding experience before university, yet I managed to build a highly successful tech career. It's time to debunk the myth that coding knowledge is a prerequisite for studying computer science. I also think it's absurd to assume that one must write code for fun outside of work to be a good developer. There's nothing wrong with doing so, but it's not a requirement. We don't expect surgeons to perform extra surgeries in their free time. In fact, I believe it's beneficial to have other hobbies and interests outside of work to help foster creativity.
